Lowering the risk of dementia

A worry for many over 50s is whether or not they will be affected by an age related illness. Illnesses such as dementia. Dementia is a brain disease that causes things such as memory loss, confusion, personality changes and impaired reasoning.

It is clear as to why this is a big worry to people over the age of fifty. It is a disease that can change  a persons life. For themselves and their families. There are however steps that can be taken to prevent this disease from taking over in the first place.

Smoking and alcohol being kept to a minimum or not being used at all is one way that you can help prevent dementia. ALongside this, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is very important, monitoring blood pressure, eating healthy and exercising regularly are all important in this process.
