Ski in accessible and snow sure Québec this winter

The province of Québec has really put itself on the winter sports map in the last few years, with a wealth of new developments, eastern North America's number one ski resort at Tremblant, and very easy access, less than a 7 hour flight from the UK!

Mont Tremblant

Innovation at the Tremblant ski school, the Flaik system, launches this winter with most children in ski school fitted with a GPS armband that makes it possible to locate the children in real-time giving greater peace of mind for parents. In addition, it is possible to re-examine the day spent on the slopes at home seeing the trails the child has skied.

Mont Tremblant Resort will kick off the season with early winter's hottest event, the 24h of Tremblant December 11-15. More than 1000 skiers and riders will take up the slopes during the 24 consecutive hours, attempting to repeat last year's extraordinary feat of raising $1 million (Canadian) for sick and underprivileged children.

Regularly voted number one ski resort in eastern North America, Tremblant offers 95 runs serviced by 14 state-of-the-art lifts, plus 18 acres of ramps, rails and jumps and an Olympic calibre Superpipe You can also try your hand at the Winter Olympic sport of curling, as this video shows - so grab your brush!*

A great way of checking out those views is on a sledge pulled by man's best friend - check out this video to see the dogs in action.*

Just 30 minutes from Québec city, visitors can combine a stay at the Ice Hotel with time in Québec City, or stay another night in the Duchesnay resort itself where the hotel is situated, and enjoy a true winter adventure -go snowmobiling, dogsledding - or as this video shows, you can also try snow shoeing!*
