talkSPORT Magazine launches a digital magazine

DON'T LIE BACK AND THINK OF ENGLAND

A survey* out today commissioned by talkSPORT Magazine, the new free weekly digital magazine which launched today, revealed that when asked what they would prefer - England winning the World Cup or sleeping with a page 3 girl, over three quarters of men said they would rather 'do it' for their country.

The results of the survey highlighted the real passion in many men's lives in the UK is not women. But football.

When respondents were asked if they would cancel their wedding for tickets to see England in a World Cup final, a staggering 41% said they would. And incredibly, over in one-in-four admitted that they would miss the birth of their child for the same tickets!

Down the pub, football is still the main topic of conversation with 72% of blokes saying it's what they talked most about, with 13% saying work, 8% saying cars and 6% saying sex. Only 2% of men admitted to talking mainly about their girlfriends or wives.

TSJames Mallinson, Publisher of talkSPORT Magazine, said: "This survey has captured what men 'really' think and talk about, and that's football. It's a national obsession and we've all been gutted, as we've had to sit back and watch a whole host of Premier League stars taking part in Euro 08 without a home nation in sight. The new season can't start soon enough!"

Bill Borrows, the editor of talkSPORT Magazine, added: "We've just had a heated debate in the office about the best value transfer of all-time and that is still raging now - with Anelka to Arsenal and Schmeichel to United (both at £500k) neck and neck but luckily we get paid to have such important discussions. This survey confirms that we can't help ourselves."

'talkSPORT Magazine', is out every Thursday, will be free to subscribers via email or online at www.talkSPORT.net/mag, and each issue will echo the ballsy, straight-talking commentary and debate associated with the station.
